GTurbo - Bad Boy Extreme - 70 Series Landcruiser (1VD-FTV)

Stage 3 Bad Boy Extreme

A huge increase in power above standard. 

Typical power you might expect (with supporting modifications) is 300-350hp which may represent a 150% increase over standard.

Supporting mods need to be undertaken to obtain this level of power and torque.

  • ECU piggyback module.
  • +30% Injectors.
  • Common rail pressure relief valve (Standard common rail relief valves are known to open well before the factory limit), we've seen them open as low as 68000kpa. 
  • Performance intercooler.

Finally the tiny Garrett vnt turbo Toyota installed on the big V8 has a fully customised, redesigned/re-engineered upgrade that is direct fit. Visually the same (it is supplied on an exchange basis), it masks a complete overhaul of the original design, retaining (but a redesign of) the modern variable nozzle technology (VNT).

Gturbo tunes for safe performance and the performance figures below reflect this philosophy. While higher figures are available with custom tuning and/or unsafe tuning with low air/fuel ratios, this is a risk the customer must express that they are willing to accept. On this basis we can tune aggressively.

A Std single turbo 4.5L V8 produces 155kW and 430nm at the crank. When measured at the wheels this can vary from as low as 90kW to as high as 125kW.

STAGE 1 - GTurbo GRUNTER upgrade:

The Gturbo GRUNTER turbo by itself is $3430.00. GRUNTER turbo upgrade + custom mapped piggyback computer (not simply a "chip") $6350 + fitment. We can also do a drive in drive out price for turbo and module for $7580.

When installed along with a 3" exhaust, this typically yields an increase to between 160-190kW as measured at the wheels depending on the vehicle. Torque is typically increased to 700-800nm over the std 430nm. So for you the owner, this can mean an increase in the range 70-90% over factory. An upgraded clutch is mandatory.

This makes an amazing difference in towing with crisp throttle response and torque right off the bottom. Improved fuel economy is also possible with additional range experienced by a large portion of our customers (more than just piggyback installed by itself) based on their feedback.

 

STAGE 2 - GTurbo BAD BOY upgrade:

The Gturbo Bad Boy turbo by itself is $3690.00. Bad Boy Turbo upgrade + custom mapped piggyback computer (not simply a "chip") $6550 + fitment. We can also do a drive in drive out price for turbo and module for $7780.

In addition and not included in these costs, you will need at least a 3.5" exhaust or a short 3”, crossover pipe, fuel lift pump with additional fuel filter, improved duct work to turbo and a better intercooler (HPD and Cross Country 4x4 for intercooler options).

When installed along with the air flow and fuel enhancement modifications listed, this typically yields an increase to around 195-220kW as measured at the wheels. So for you the owner, this can mean an increase in the range 70-110% over factory.

Torque is typically increased to around 900nm (over 1000nm has been achieved) over the std 430nm. This makes an astonishing difference in towing with crisp throttle response and torque right off the bottom.

The GTurbo is totally reengineered to effectively and safely run the boost we specify for long long life. It is balanced to 0.003g or less and will run quietly.

It’s a bolt on replacement for your current turbo to the manifold and exhaust.
