Want to see some footage from our driver training??

Run by our very own professional driver trainer Aaron Mitchell, the course is specifically designed for our clients that have little or no off road driving experience but who want to learn more about their vehicles, the correct and safe techniques of how to take their vehicle off road and to also see what their vehicle is capable of.

You will learn.

  • Familiarisation with vehicle components and features.
  • Identify four wheel drive specific terms, terminology and techniques.
  • Plan for minimal environmental impact.
  • Perform pre-departure checks.
  • Responsible driving and mechanical sympathy.
  • Snatch strap recovery.
  • Basic water crossings.

Participants need to bring.

  • Current drivers licence, needs to be sighted on the day.
  • Your own lunch, drinks including water resource, snacks etc.
  • Clothing suitable for the conditions, (Jackets, wet weather gear, hat, suncream etc), pair of sturdy leather gloves.
  • Snatch strap (rated to 2.5 – 3 times the GVM of their vehicle) in good condition, not something that has been used/abused or sitting under the house for decades, grandads old straps that he swears by won't cut it either. Recovery equipment doesn't last forever. If you're not sure, pop down to the shop and grab new components, it's not worth taking any chances.
  • Rated bow shackles 16mm (3.25T) or 19mm (4.75T) are suitable, they must have legible ratings.
  • Damper blankets - We recommend 2 blankets for each recovery snatch strap and even more for complicated recoveries.
  • Equaliser strap - For connecting snatch straps or other straps to a vehicles rated recovery points.
Basic entry requirements.
